We have set the date for a major recording project to take place on Friday, February 1st at St. John's in Clinton! The plan is first of all to have a Votive Mass of the Holy Spirit, celebrated by Fr. Marc Crilly, OSB, with all parts of the Mass being sung, alternately by priest, deacon, cantor, choir, and congregation. We will have a professional film crew and audio engineer doing a high quality filming / recording of the whole Mass. Afterwards, we will go back and re-record any parts that need polishing up. We would like to have about 40-50 people in the Cor Unum Chorale, and at least 200 or more people (singing) in the congregation!
We will need extra rehearsals before this event, so as to be well prepared. Paul Jernberg will be available in December and early January, to practice with smaller groups in various locations, closer to their own homes. We will then have an important rehearsal on Friday, January 25th at St. John's at 6:30pm, and a final run-through on Thursday, January 31st at 6:30pm, with the filming and audio recording crew. While I do not expect everyone to make all of these, please consider what you can do and stretch as much as you can without undue stress! For the Cor Unum Chorale, the rehearsal on the 25th will be the most important, as the one on January 31st (also important) will not be only for us but primarily for the filming and recording crew.
